In the hospitality and restaurant sector, wastewater management presents major environmental, operational, and economic challenges. These establishments, with significant water consumption, produce wastewater loaded with fats, oils, and other organic matter from the kitchen and bathrooms. The variation in flow rates, marked by peaks during high-activity hours, complicates continuous treatment. Traditional sanitation systems often struggle to handle these fluctuations and usually require costly maintenance, making SystemO)) particularly suitable for this setup. The objective of this project is, therefore, to bring the wastewater system of this hotel-restaurant up to standard while providing a sustainable solution.
The chosen solution is SystemO)), capable of handling loads of up to 89 Population Equivalents (PE). It includes a pretreatment device via a 40 m³ septic tank, followed by a direct infiltration system thanks to the soil’s permeability, which exceeds 10 mm/h. This passive treatment system, utilizing 100% biological technology, ideally meets the needs of this hotel and restaurant by ensuring effective treatment without electricity, mechanical parts, or continuous maintenance.
- Operational Savings
SystemO)) offers OPEX costs reduced to nearly zero. By eliminating the need for constant maintenance and electricity, the establishment’s operating budget is lightened, freeing up resources for other priorities. - Sustainability and Environmental Respect
By integrating a fully autonomous and eco-friendly system, the hotel and restaurant reduce their ecological footprint. The solution also avoids the use of chemicals and prevents the emission of secondary pollutants, promoting a positive impact on the environment. - Reliability and Peace of MindSystemO)) is designed to offer a stable and reliable solution, capable of adapting to fluctuations in activity and variations in flow, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted treatment even during periods of high activity. Its design, without electricity or mechanical maintenance, allows the establishment to operate smoothly, without constant concerns about the system’s functioning, providing peace of mind for the management staff.
The sanitation project includes the direct infiltration of treated wastewater into the soil, taking advantage of the high permeability of the ground (greater than 10 mm/h). This process enables the natural return of water to the environment without compromising the quality of aquifers. The solution ensures compliance with environmental standards and requirements, preserving local water resources and reducing the saturation of receiving soils.
By implementing SystemO)), this hotel and restaurant have benefited from a sustainable, economical, and perfectly tailored sanitation solution for the challenges of their activity. The success of this project demonstrates the effectiveness of passive wastewater treatment solutions, offering an innovative and environmentally friendly water management model for the hospitality and restaurant sector.
